Happi Sock is a woollen spun, non superwash Corriedale yarn with spring, grip, and beautiful bloom.
Happi was made for colourwork with character. The airy woollen spin gives the fabric loft and lightness. Corriedale has excellent crimp for a medium-weight wool, resulting in a yarn that is both sturdy and bouncy, while still being remarkably soft to the touch. It also means that the metreage on this wool is excellent value for money, as you can easily work this as a sport gauge!
Its excellent weight-to-warmth balance, and its fulling to itself into cohesive fabric as it is worn, make this yarn exceptional in stranded colourwork! The two-ply construction has a quirky, slightly irregular character that reads in the finished fabric as a pebbly, rustic surface. Stitch definition is softly blurred, with a spongy hand and a slightly uneven, velvety finish. Happi is soft in the hand with that familiar Corriedale resilience, making it ideal for cosy socks, mitts, and lightweight stranded garments.
Named after happi, a traditional work jacket, this yarn is practical, comfortable, and ready for long-wearing knits that have that special, woollen-spun hand.
Available in 100g and 20g skeins, giving you licence to go absolutely wild with colour combos in your next colourwork project!
